Received and Given --- a lot of Joys

But first may I introduce my Morsel
- the Another Year of Schnibbles project for December -

 UPS! Sorry, the wrong photo!!!
Where is the photo of my Morsel? I have to go around and look for it... and leave Fenix to continue his dream... looks like he had a hard day's night yesterday...

meanwhile
may I introduce some joys, which we found from under the Christmas tree

There was presents from dear blogger friends, Katrin from Germany, Simone from Holland, new friend Sue from Australia (SSCS) and Dolores from Canada.

Katrin made and sent along Santa Claus many pretty gifts and a gorgeous machine embroidered Angel card (1). I'm still thinking she is very multi-talented lady. VIELEN schönen DANKE, my dear friend KATRIN!

Santa Claus brought from Simone very beautifully wrapped parcel with flavoured tea pouches (2). It was a pity to open such a beauty, but I was anxious to see what was in it! There was this neatly decorated mug rug and cutest owl decoration, which i have ever seen. Unfortunately you have to wait for a while until you see those owls... the photo, which I took of them was all too blurry to publish. I'm very fortunate to know an other multi-talented lady. HEEL hartelijk BEDANKT, my dear friend SIMONE!

Sue from Australia was my Secret Santa Claus Swap partner in this... sorry, last year 2012.

I think you remember her two Christmas socks with tiny gifts inside them. The main present was this piece of art quilt, a beautiful coastal landscape. Oh, I almost feel that Australian summer breeze!

Look at all these details! I can't believe how fortunate I AM... really!
THANK YOU so MUCH, my dear friend SUE!

Far away from Canada came this...

... other work of art with very touching story. This tree is called Emma's tree. And I'm feeling VERY honoured to have one of them on my wall. When I look that tree, I understand more the meaning and the priorities of the life. THANK YOU so MUCH, my dear friend DOLORES!
(PS. Dolores: The green Emma's tree found also it's path to me...)

Maybe I can now reveal you what I posted... öhöm... I mean... what I gave to Santa Claus, who delivered it to my SSCS partner, Sonia.

I was quite nervous, when I saw her blog and her pages of scrapbooking net store. Shall I ever figure to make her anything? She makes so many pretty things herself... I just want to make something useful...
Oh, what a pressure!
But then I saw the Idea Pouch on Simone's blog. I rushed to the Michelle's pages and got the pattern. Now the problem was the fabric...

... but I decided to use quite neutral-to-earth colour, which looks a bit like an antique...

Here is other gifts, which I had time to make and... hopefully Santa Claus brought them safely to their destination... and I hope they will delight recipients ;o)

Well, at last... I found it!
Little Bites - Morsel - pincushion.

I almost completed it last night, but I think this is my first OPAM in 2013!

I don't know why, but this pincushion reminds me of Popeye's girlfriend, Olga.

It was a good start of a new year...
I'm happy you popped here!!!

Hello Luscious meets Doc or...

... Fenix!
In May Another Year of Schnibbles project is Doc
By the way have you heard the great news?

Sewing Schnibbles is now more and more funny, because Carrie has published them in the pdf -formats. It's very practical way to purchase patterns for us, who live here behind the seas...

So I have already the pattern, luscious fabrics and the table, which needs a new cloth...

I wish you a wonderful weekend
with or without tricks ,o)

Summer Day...

... is AYOS (Another Year of Schnibbles) in April!

I sewed the top of it last September (it was then my free choice for Le Petit - challenge),
but it's still in that stage... Why? I have no good explanation for that, but I think one might be, that I didn't figure quite well... WHAT IS IT?

The size of it is now about 17" x 17".
I placed it on one pillow... beside my granny square blanket...

 The colours match well together
and I got the idea for the backing...

Now I'm waiting for the SEWING MOJO...
I have a high pile of cutted fabrics next to the B, but no inspiration :o/

I hope you have a more creative weekend than I do
See you ;o)

BibeloT Story AND Jotain valmista joka kuukausi HuHtiKuu

I know I should have written this story yesterday, because it was the first day of April and the parades
at Sinta Renee and at Sherri are going on...
but better now than never?

Bibelot story continued on last Friday...
Do you believe, how wonderful it felt to sit next to dearB. and start to sew ;o) after few weeks break!!!
First I added the inner white borders and then sewed the Hunky Dory rectangulars together...
and when I began to sew THEM to the borders... I met some problems!!!!
KÄÄÄÄK!!!! They were TOO long!
(Am I little rusty?)

What shall I do now? Shall I add one more 'inner' border or...

I did a decision and sewed green spotty border.
But after that Fenix was already too eager to decide the places for the butterflies!

 See... how focused he is!!!

After a while he pointed to a new location...
but this time I wasn't sure of his opinion.

Because I didn't want to break the T -blocks too much...
... I appliqued only two butterflies to the corner.
Bibelot is now waiting for the batting and quilting... and I'll continue with it ASAP ;O)

Finally, a quick rewiev of...

Jotain valmista joka kuukausi projektini huhtikuussa on
Leanne Beasleyn Butterfly Garden.

In April I'm gonna finish Leanne Beasley's Butterfly Garden.
I started it as a BOM (ordered it from Honeysuckle Gottage) in spring 2008. I did five blocks more or less in time, but then it slowed down...
Last year I got some boost from Hanne and May-Britt. They had a goal to finish it before summer 2011. They managed, but I didn't :o/
I stitched all blocks, except the last one!!! Can you believe THAT?

Joten alkutilanne huhtikuulle on:
yhdeksästä blokista 8 valmiina, yhdeksännen miniblokit ommeltu yhteen, muttei vielä applikoitu eikä kirjottu.
Huh, vuoden ensimmäisiin haasteisiini verrattuna kovin haaste edessä ;o)
mutta haluaisin sen toukokuun alkuun valmiiksi!
Peukut pystyyn, tytöt, että onnistun!!!

Hauskaa pääsiäisviikon alkua kaikille!!!!
Happy week to you!!!

PS. Did you remember Zakka Style Sew along started today?

Insert Snappy Title Here...

AYOS (Another Year of Schnibbles) continued with Carrie's pattern, ISTH or i.s.t.h.

If you remember, at first I was skeptical of the color combination - blue and red.
Then I sewed first block - or in fact - found matching and pleasing fabrics for it. So I decided: I really need a new Christmas tablerunner for my table! If it'll be a nice one, then I'll use this pattern again and sew the other tablerunner for the present.

After sewing four stars I was pleased with the length... but then began 'the problems'.
What about the borders?
Shall I make the checkerboards as in the original pattern or shall I borrow the idea, which I saw at Sinta Renee?
Shall I use the stripe fabric or not?

While I was thinking of those hard questions... it was better do something else!

The second OPAM - finished ;o) And matches nicely with my mother's blouse!

The knitting 'cleaned up' my head. I made decisions :-)

... and before I realised the whole tablerunner was finished!
PURTAP-purrTAP, well-done!!!
I'm pleased and not skeptical anymore... blue and red are spectacular together - atleast with brown ;o)

The end... a photo mystery...

Where is the cat?
;D
We'll be back soon...
