Plans for February

In the beginning...
I want to thank you all, who have commented on my stories.
I usually answer you (if I have time) by email, but there is some non-bloggers, who I can't answer through my email... So please, remember
I truly appreciate all comments ;o) THANKS / KIITOS!

And then some plans!

My PIP in February is...
eli Jotain valmista joka kuukausi projektini helmikuussa on...

Easter Twister -tablecloth / -pöytäliina.
I started it last year in April, so it's not even old UFO.
I don't know what happened, but it's only without quilting and binding...
And it's not a large project either, only 16" x 16". And I like those colours and fabrics...
What's wrong? Why it's still unfinished?
... one of life's mysteries...
BUT it won't be long unfinished! Now I see it as a good chance to practise free-motion quilting...

In the middle of the school projects...
I'll relax with next blocks of My Favorite Things.
There is three blocks: an ice cream, a hot chocolate and a good book.
I got the layer cake of 'Papillon' (new line by 3 Sisters, Moda)...
perhaps I'll now start to sew the sashings...

Then there is a new AYOS challenge ahead...
it's Carrie Nelson's I.S.T.H.
must be careful with those letters... ;o)
The original pattern is made of red-blue fabrics...

... and I must admit that those colours - I mean red and blue together - is really out of my comfort zone!
But I'm going to start... and if I'll success... I'll have the first Christmas present ready in the end of F.
I planned to make a some kind of tablerunner version of I.S.T.H. (did I write it right?)

But now hyrr-hyrf...
Freezing (-20 degrees of C) Winter wishes to you
lucky we have warming quilts around us;o)

'Building' Together "Full House"

In spite of previous plans
I altered the fabrics for the Another Year of Schnibble (= AYOS) project 'Full House'.
The first plan you find here.

The main reason for the change of fabrics was Sweetwater's 'MAKE LIFE'... it needed more fresh colours around than those browns and greys. So I burrowed the stash fabrics and found one charm pack of 'DAYDREAMS' (by Deb Strain).

That was all I needed for the 'Around the Pink Hood', which is the other variation of 'Full House' And our sofa was needing a new cushion...

... so we continued to build up the houses.
Don't be too hasty, Fenix!

I had some prejudices of houses...
maybe they are too simple for me... I always do / prefer more complicated blocks...
BUT I was surprised, IT WAS an exciting and entertaining experience!

And I think it was an extreme event to Fenix also ;o)
Oh, so many word with E!

The binding and background fabric is bright green with white vine prints (some fabric of JOANN).

I quilted first time with Aurifil's thread...
and I got more E - vitamins...

Here's OUR AYOS for January...
and it seems everyone's needs were fulfilled in this week ;o)

Remember to check out
THE parade of 'Full House' 1st of February at Renee or Sherri!!!

Here are the blocks...

... sewed together.
I won't sew the sashing stripes yet... some of the SAL -ladies will do that now... but I want to sew & applique more blocks, before starting with the sashings...

Jotain valmista. Osa1 - the First Project of 2012...

... IS FINISHED :o)

Aren't they CUTE???
Those 'baby feathers' (= back-/ long stitches with one thread) make them look so real...
Now they are ready for the frames and to the wall...
There... now the photo... I quickly fetch the camera...
AND.... that NOISE...?????

What's happening in the living room?

No, no, nooo, FENIX!!!!! Please, leave 'Sitting Pretties' alone!

Well, maybe it's better put them on the table...
I think I'll change the passe-partout someday... the stripes are perhaps too restless...
but until then... I'll - purr-purrWE - enjoy them here.

Otherwise this past week was scrappy... I did a little this and a little that...
I would like to finish another project, but what it would be... quick and easy...

Atleast it won't be Gardener's Journal...

Finally yesterday evening I put it on the frame and started to quilt...

... and it didn't take a long to realize...

... this is not for me...
I want GJ to be soft and cosy quilt... so I'm using quite heavy batting... and that was not very wise, because I'm really poor hand quilter... so I think dearB can do it better... then there is also some hope to finish it in July...

But what shall I do then?... besides school projects of course ....

Maybe Another Schnibble...
... a deep sigh... hopeless...

I hope your weekend will be more reasonable than mine ;o)

HAPPY SEWING!!!!
