Summer Greetings

Some picks from finnish nature
It has been few hot day...

here in Finland over 20 - 25 degree of Celcius is really hot;) - atleast in May. Fortunately yesterday it was a rainy and much cooler... so my sewing corner was full of crowd. Recently I have noticed that sewing with a kitten is slightly slower than normally;), but still fun...

Recently I have admired Leanne's House blocks made by two talented lady (Simone and Laila). They have inspired me to discover my three finished block again. I stitched them already two years ago... and when I now watch them I'm not sure whether I like those shades or colours anymore...

...at least not after seeing these fabrics...

There is some fabrics from two collection
R. Kaufman's The Bailey Collection and
Moda's Aviary (3 Sisters).
Especially Aviary is SOOO yummy range of fabric...

... should I start the other LH???? ... or should I wait until the biggest passion for these fabrics will go past???

Yesterday I sewed my first babyJanes together!!! I must admit it was a exciting moment...

I considered it carefully and for a long time... what kind of sashing I'll do... use I one or two colour... where I'll find a suitable fabric...

In the end all difficult questions are resolved...
I decided to sew them together with those tiny squares (1/2" x 1/2"). It means a little bit more sewing, but I think it's worth of it.

In June Anne Ida is choosing the blocks for the BOW of the SBS.
Her first choice was block H3 called Sarah's Choice.

Here is my first "greeting" to you, Anne Ida!

I'm looking forward to next block...

Have a nice and colourful weekend!

Hi Satu ~ I'm glad you started your Leanne's House quilt again. Your first three blocks look wonderful! I haven't started my second one yet. Will have to look what fabrics I will use first.
Have a lovely weekend!

*lol* Thank you for the greeting! Your Sarah's Choice block is absolutely lovely!

Your Leanne's House blocks are gorgeous! It would be a shame if you don't finish this quilt. But if (by chance) you decide to start a new, I know Lise (http://lises-hobbyblogg.blogspot.com/) started a second LH quilt, but ended up making a ruffle around each block and using them as cushions - and they look fabulous! An idea... But perhaps you should let those yummy fabrics mature a bit before making up your mind?

Congratulations on getting started on stitching your DJ blocks together - they look wonderful - and I just love those tiny cornerstones :o)

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Hi Satu, If I where you I would start on the LH again. It's such a nice quilt to make and you have bought great fabrics for it. But your baby jane also looks very very very beautiful.

Perfect sashing for your Baby Janes.

I love the sashing on your Dear Jane! The little cornerstones are definitely worth it-- they set off the blocks beautifully! I'm still trying to decide what to do on mine.

This is the first time I've seen the Leanne's House blocks. They are so lovely! I'm glad to hear that you're revisiting that project, and I can't wait to see more.
