Belle was not lucky in love either. Rosemary writes in her book: Belle was engaged twice, but both relationships ended in broken engagements and heartbreak for her.
Her death at 33 years old was unexpected and suspicious. It was said at her death that she was engaged a third time to marry a Yankee officer.

Hope to make some sewing tomorrow, I have not touched the sewing machine for weeks now. This block must be one of the few "easy" ones in this book, don't you think? What will be the next one?
Hope you are feeling better. I feel a bit better tonight, having been at hospital again today doing some surgery. But this is indeed a strange summer...
