Progress in My Favorite Things

Happy and joyful winter day...

This week I focused on Stitch-a-long blocks for My Favorite Things quilt. February blocks: an ice cream, a hot chocolate and a good book are now appliqued, stitched...
(The tales behind the blocks you'll found here.)

... and all ten blocks are pieced together - almost!
Annie's quilt has all the sashing stripes cream or other light colours, but I'm using grey for the outer part of sashings. Now I'll take a small break with it, but only until March.

This photo is greetings to Laila!

She asked me to show my Granny's blanket ;o).
I crocheted it at early 80's. Therefore it's very colorful, which is not typical for me. The yarns are mainly man-made fibers, therefore it's also quite heavy. So I haven't used it much.
I have dreamed of crochet a new blanket...
... but what colour?

Maybe this color?
But I'm not sure, if the variegated yarn is good for grannies...
What do you think? I would love to hear YOUR opinion.

Many knitting projects are also progressing here...

... a frilly scarf is one of them.

... till next time!

Voi miten kiva applikaatiotyöstäsi tulee:)
Isoäidin neliöt ovat minusta kauneimmillan kun ovat kirjavia:)

Your projects are so interesting. I do like that scarf and I think you have the beginnings of a very nice granny square blanket. But I must say, your Favorite Things quilt with the grey border is stunning.

Hi Satu,
I really like the "things you love" a lot and it looks so good when all the blocks are together.
As to the crochet, the old blanket is timeless beautiful, and the new project looks delicate. The variegated jarn has one big advantage, you don´t have to weave in so many yarn tails, and to me the yarn is okay.
Have a nice sunday

Your Favorite Things is really getting along fine!
Great Granny blanket. Looks very good on Fenix.
I do like your granny blocks, but I'm not sure the green on the inside suits it well. I do like it on the outside!

I would use the varigated yarn where the same yarn is used for several rows, if you know what I mean. One single row is perhaps too little. And less work with the thread ends.
You have done wonderful work on your applique!

Hello Satu, The applique on the favourite things quilt is lovely it looks fun to do.The crochet blanket is very colourful.I can see Fenix likes it. I have made the same scarf but I used one colour for mine.Varigated looks nice and soft.

Thanks for showing us the gorgeous blanket! I LOVE your Granny Squares! My guess is that the variengated yarn would look better in the GS blocks if you make one block with only that yarn. If you have several with different color schemes, they would look awesome if you use a single color to separate them in the final row and when you piece them together. Hope you don't mind I'm honest here...
I haven't figured out how to piece mine together yet. Want do sew them together instead of crocheting them together. Sølvi at Quiltegården sewed them together, and I really like how that look in the end.
Wish you a great weekend, and hope you're having fun with needle and thead :-)
Hugs

Your scarf is so nice for springtime. The granny quilt is also beautiful. But your Favorite thing quilt is looking very nice.
